The 3 Most Binge-Worthy Series for Tokers

Is there anything better than binge-watching an addictive TV show? For many smokers, it's the best way to unwind. Right now, the sheer amount of high-quality television to watch is astounding. Every network or streaming platform from Netflix to Amazon is pumping out original content at an astounding rate. And since many of us are still staying indoors, TV has become the ultimate past time. One thing's for sure, it definitely beats spending hours and hours scrolling through your smartphone.

When you're a smoker, you're not just going to be content with any show. For example: if you've just wrapped up a smoke session, improvising with something like Keeping Up With the Kardashians is not going to work for you. As a matter of fact, it shouldn't work for you under any circumstances, but that's a conversation for another post. However, there are plenty of amazing, mind-bending, super entertaining shows out there. More importantly: for stoners, they're a dream come true.

In this post, we'll discuss the five best shows for stoners to binge-watch. Read on to find out more!

1. Stranger Things

There are very few shows that seem as tailor-made for the average American stoner as Stranger Things. A pop culture blend of 80's sci-fi, plus a touch of Stephen King horror with a dash of Spielbergian wonder, Stranger Things is a beautiful hybrid of the kinds of pop culture we grew up obsessing over. As Netflix's most popular original series, it's also the ultimate show for stoners everywhere.

In 1980's Hawkins, Indiana, a young boy vanishes under mysterious circumstances. His mother, a disgruntled police chief and his friends are all forced to confront strange, supernatural forces to discover the truth of his disappearance. Now, to say anything further about the plot of this show would be a grave disservice to anyone reading. It's best you just enter the Upside Down and enjoy the ride for yourself.

2. Breaking Bad

Sometimes, as viewers we crave a little suspense and intensity. Breaking Bad serves all that up and more. Now, there's no way you don't already know at least seven people who rave about Breaking Bad and how it's the rarest of TV gems - a show that only got better every season and ended on a perfect, symphonic high. Anyone who's ever obsessively followed a TV show knows how difficult it can be for the writers to stick the landing, (Game of Thrones, anyone?) Breaking Bad goes down in history as one of the greatest endings to any TV show, ever, period. All five seasons are available for you to greedily consume on Netflix as we speak. What are you waiting for?

Admittedly, on paper, the premise for Breaking Bad just sounds like a huge bummer. And interestingly, AMC almost turned it down because it simply sounded way too depressing. However, you won't have any time to feel sad as you watch this show. You'll be too busy trying to calm your pounding heartbeat.

When a smart and mild-mannered chemistry teacher learns his cancer is worsening, he decides to perfect a crystal meth recipe in order to guarantee his family's survival. What follows is a beautifully chaotic and glorious descent into the shadowy world of drug lords. In addition, we witness arguably the most fascinating character arc in TV history as Walter White goes from sweet, timid patriarch to vicious and unyielding kingpin. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

3. Big Mouth

Is any stoner TV list complete without a cartoon? Big Mouth isn't your average cartoon, either. Another Netflix original, Big Mouth is a hilarious exploration of both the wonders and horrors of puberty. Anyone who's ever walked the halls of a junior high school will find it relatable maybe to the point of discomfort. But no matter how close it hits to home, you'll inevitably be laughing until it hurts.

Big Mouth centers around a group of seventh graders, all struggling to deal with the typical trappings of adolescence in suburban New York. That basically includes everything you can possibly imagine - now matter how filthy or profane. Nothing is off limits in Big Mouth, and it'll remind you just how grateful you are that you've survived junior high school.

Conclusion - Toker Supply

Excellent TV shows are the best way to survive quarantine. Additionally, they make a fantastic way to liven up a good smoke session. These shows are an excellent place to start, as nobody could possibly find them less-than-insanely-entertaining. Now that the end of summer is upon us, we'll all be spending a lot more time indoors. TV shows will make that so much more enjoyable.
