FAQ:

What are Quartz Bangers & Quartz Nails?

Quartz Bangers & Quartz Nails are specific types of dab nails used for vaporizing cannabis concentrates. Made from food & medical grade glass, they can withstand extreme temperatures for perfect dabbing. While they may look like glass nails at first glance, they're actually made from a different grade of high-quality crystal that makes all the difference in your hits! Quartz nails don't emit harmful gasses & chemicals when heated and are totally safe. Fun fact: Quartz heats up quicker than Titanium in about 5-10 seconds.

What types of Quartz Bangers are available?

There are several types of quartz bangers available, each offering unique features:

  • Flat Top Quartz Banger Nail: Known for added heat retention and durability, ensuring consistent dabs
  • Quartz Grail Banger Nail: Features a unique slitted opening in the front, enhancing airflow for smoother hits
  • XL Quartz Banger Nail: A larger version of the standard banger, perfect for those who prefer bigger dabs
  • Quartz Dozer Nail: Includes a dozer shape and is available in both male and female joints
  • Male Quartz Banger Nail: A 14mm male banger that offers a significant upgrade from standard quartz nails

How do I use a Quartz Banger?

Using a quartz banger is straightforward:

  • Prepare Your Concentrate: Place a small amount of concentrate on your dabber tool
  • Heat the Nail: Use a torch to heat the nail until it reaches optimal temperature (usually indicated by a red glow)
  • Apply the Carb Cap: Place the carb cap on top of the nail to trap heat and enhance flavor
  • Inhale: Inhale slowly and smoothly to enjoy the pure flavor of your concentrate

How do I maintain and clean my Quartz Banger?

To ensure optimal performance and longevity:

  • Regular Cleaning: After each use, clean the banger with a soft brush and mild soap to remove residue
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Steer clear of harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that can damage the quartz
  • Thorough Drying: Dry thoroughly after cleaning to prevent water spots and potential damage
  • Proper Storage: Store in a cool, dry place to maintain integrity and performance
  • Use Cleaning Solutions: For deep cleaning, use specialized solutions designed for quartz

How do I choose the right Quartz Banger?

A quartz banger is the bucket-shaped nail you heat on a dab rig. Quartz heats quickly, holds heat well and adds no taste of its own, which is why it's the most popular dab nail material for flavor. Toker Supply stocks domeless bangers, terp slurpers, core reactors and honey buckets from GRAV, MJ Arsenal, Honeybee Herb and Pulsar in 10mm, 14mm and 18mm, with free shipping on orders over $125.

How to Choose a Quartz Banger

  • Joint size and gender: match your rig. A rig with a 14mm female joint needs a 14mm male banger.
  • Angle: match the banger angle to your rig's joint. Use a 90° banger on a joint that points straight out sideways, and a 45° banger on a joint angled upward at 45°, so the bucket sits level.
  • Style: flat-top buckets are simple; terp slurpers and core reactors spin oil for even heating; thick-bottom bangers hold heat longer.
  • Weld: full-weld bangers have no seams, so they clean easier and last longer.

Using a Banger on a Bong

Any bong or bubbler with a standard glass joint can take a banger in place of its bowl, which turns it into a dab setup. A small piece works best, because a large chamber thins out the vapor. Pair the banger with a carb cap and terp pearls for lower-temperature dabs and better flavor from your wax.

Quartz Banger FAQs

Quartz vs titanium vs ceramic nail: which is best?

Quartz gives the cleanest flavor and is the most popular. Titanium is nearly unbreakable but can affect taste. Ceramic holds heat well but is fragile and heats slowly.

How long should I wait after heating a quartz banger?

For a standard banger, heat until the bottom just glows, then wait about 45–60 seconds. Thicker bangers need longer, and a temperature reader takes out the guesswork.

How do I clean a quartz banger?

Swab it with a cotton bud while it's still warm after each dab. For buildup, soak it in isopropyl alcohol once it has fully cooled; never put a hot banger into liquid.
