8 Dabbing Accessories Every Serious Dabber Needs

Just learning how to dab? Here, we've put together a list of tools and how-tos on the 8 most important dab tools you need!

Universal Titanium Nail

#1 Universal Titanium Nail

Do you know the joint size of your dab rig? Is it male or female? All of the different joint sizes and genders can get confusing for someone that is just getting started. Well, with a universal titanium nail you don’t have to worry! It will fit any size or type of joint on any water pipe or dab rig as long as the bong has a glass joint. Titanium nails are long lasting and you don’t have to worry about breaking them and they hold heat very well. A universal dab nail is a great dab tool to have just in case you get a new rig or need a backup nail.

Quartz Dab Nail

#2 Quartz Bangers

When heating up your nail with a torch you can inadvertently damage your rig if the nail is too close to your piece. Most old school traditional dab nails are completely straight and therefore most likely very close to your rig that could potentially be harmful. Well, that is why the quartz banger was invented! It features a unique design where a domeless dish is set away from the joint so the heat is moved away from your rig. The other benefit of quartz banger nails is their large dish design that allows you to vaporize more concentrates in a single dab. Quartz Bangers also do not need to be seasoned so they can be used right when you get it! Quartz nails give you incredible flavor and heat retention.

Dab Torch

#3 Dab Torch

A dab torch is a must have tool for dabbing. It is what you’ll use to heat your dab nail to the correct temperature so you can vaporize your concentrates. There are tons of torches on the market, we recommend getting a torch that was meant for dabbing and not one meant for use in the kitchen. You want a torch with a large flame output so you can heat your nail evenly and quickly. It is also very important that you use good quality butane when refilling your dab torch to keep it functioning properly.

Silicone Dab Container

#4 Silicone Dab Jar

If you’re a dabber you know just how sticky and messy dabs can be. The best thing to keep your wax in is a silicone container. Wax will not stick to silicone making it much easier for you to scoop out and will also prevent waste from getting stuck to traditional jars. Silicone containers come in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, and designs. We recommend having a few different kinds, a smaller one for traveling and a larger one to keep at home with your main stash.

No. 2 Pencil Dabber Tool

#5 Dabber Tool

Because wax can be very sticky and you will be placing it into a burning hot nail you need a dabber tool to safely place your dabs into your heated nail. Most dabber tools are made out of glass, quartz, titanium or ceramic because they can touch the hot nail without being damaged. When picking out a dabber you want one that can easily pick up your concentrates and hold as much wax as you might want without falling off the dabber. We offer a wide variety of dabbers to fit anyone’s styles.

Carb Cap

#6 Carb Cap

A carb cap is one of the most important dabbing tools you will use. Figuring out the perfect temperature to heat your nail can be tricky especially for first-time smokers. A carb cap is used to restrict airflow to the nail so you can vaporize your concentrates at lower temperatures and ensure that you don’t waste any of your dabs. Some carb caps have built in dab tools to make the process even easier. For more information on why carb caps are so important check out our article on the benefits of a carb cap.

Reclaim Catcher

#7 Reclaim Catcher

Concentrates can be expensive and you want to make sure that you are using every bit of it so there is no waste. If you’ve dabbed before you know that sometimes excess wax can leak into your water pipes joint or into the piece itself. This can make cleaning your piece hard to do and also you waste precious concentrates. Reclaim catchers are meant to trap excess wax so you can reuse it and not waste anything. It is a glass attachment that fits on your dab rig and features a small dish to trap any excess reclaim that would otherwise leak into your water pipe. This makes it easy to catch and reuse.

Dab Rig

#8 Dab Rig

Well obviously in order to dab you need a dab rig. But the reason we are listing this here is that it is important to get a dab rig that is meant for concentrate use. We also highly recommend having a water pipe that you only use for concentrates. The reason being is the taste you get from dabs is different than flowers and you don’t want to mix the two. If you only dab sometimes but still want a dedicated rig we recommend checking out our dab rigs under $100 section for a high quality but very affordable oil rig.
